-> Updated robots.txt file
robots.txt file tells search engines whether to crawl your website/webpages or not to be indexed on search engines' server. We used this previously to stop Google from indexing aaronbouren.com (when it was not ready to go live). Now that we want to let search engines know we are live, I updated the robots.txt file accordingly.
-> Added your site to Google Search Console
Note: it will take some time for data to appear here. You can access this page by going to https://search.google.com/search-console Remember in order to access this you are required to login with your account aaron@aaronbouren.com
-> Submitted sitemap to Google Search Console
A sitemap is a file where you provide information about the pages, videos, and other files on your site, and the relationships between them. Search engines like Google read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. A sitemap tells Google which pages and files you think are important in your site, and also provides valuable information about these files: for example, for pages, when the page was last updated, how often the page is changed, and any alternate language versions of a page.
